Thanks to frysee over at XDA for creating the original. See his thread here with versions for other devices.

3 Options to install.

First step: Simply rename "Streak_Bios_bootanimation.zip" to "bootanimation.zip"

1. ADB

Navigate to the folder containing "bootanimation.zip" in terminal/command prompt.

Type the following

adb push bootanimation.zip /Data/Local
Then to test, set your device so display is in landscape (will not display properly if you have it on portrait and test it but will display fine either way on boot)
adb shell bootanimation
2. Root Explorer Copy "bootanimation.zip" to your SD card On your Streak open up Root Explorer (or any other app that allows you to copy paste to the internal memory) Copy "bootanimation.zip" and paste it to /Data/Local 3. Terminal Emulator thanks nickshertzer, his directions are for drop box but can easily be manipulated for simply copying the bootanimation.zip to your SDcard
Bump! This is awesome! Thanks for sharing. BTW, if you don't have / want to get out that sync cable for ADB, use dropbox & Terminal Emulator. Make sure you download the .zip using dropbox longpress first before running following command (requires Busybox / can't remember if it is installed default on Steve's ROM)
su

cp /sdcard/dropbox/bootanimation.zip /data/local/

reboot

Enjoy B)

You sure?

It's up on xda under themes and apps. I'm on my streak nour and will d/l and check it when I get home.

Are you renaming it to bootanimation.zip before you attempt to put it in /data/local

Nice! you could almost add on to the animation so it doesn't loop while booting. Have the ascii droid turn into a graphic.

Lol, want me to remove that for you?

I noticed that as well but was pressed on time when I was customizing it for the streak.

Anyway to modify this so it displays in landscape rather than portrait?

Either you'd have to edit each image (there a bunch of .png files) to how you want it to look in landscape

Or you can edit the desc.txt, but that will squish and stretch it out causing it to not look good.

I tried to do that, I changed all the pictures and overwrote the ones in the zip file. Exact same amout oft pictures and I didn´t change anything else. After copying that file into /data/local, I didn´t get any boot anymation at all.

What could I be doing wrong?

Figured it out, it didn´t work because my zip file was compressed. Now it works, I took out the android picture in the second half and stretched out the bios like part.
