Guest MrHicks Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 I find placing the cursor exactly where you want it with the touch screen really hard, so I often resort to using Swype's arrow keys.
Guest protocold Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 It has a touchscreen I know.. but so do all other android phone... like the Pulse e.g. it has touch screen and the control. Yeah.. it is very hard to pin the cursor at exactly where you want.... I guess arrow key will do....
Guest jurrasstoil Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 i hate to admit it, but i like the way iOS handles this with the little zoom and everything.
Guest Stuart_f Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Swype keyboard and use the arrow keys. It's much quicker than repeatedly stabbing the screen trying to get the spot exactly right.

Guest Lew247 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 When typing htc keyboard, use the volume buttons to move the cursor left and right
Guest Rotmann Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 When typing htc keyboard, use the volume buttons to move the cursor left and right +1 . You have to enable it in the HTC_IME settings though, but it's brilliant! The down volume button is cursor back and the up volume button is forward.

If its missing you need the clicker.apk I posted it a few weeks back, thats the htc settings app normally comes installed with the rom but I did find one that had it missing
Guest samjam Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 it would be good if the volume keys could select in the "shutdown menu" so that folk with touch-screen-freeze can select to shutdown nicely without just yanking the battery. Come to think of it it would be good if just holding the power-button for 5 seconds selected shutdown (no prompt). Can the htc_ime or clicker help here?
Guest IronDoc Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Gingerbread improves this by adding iPhone style 'tags' (?) at the beginning and end of the highlighted section of text iirc.
Guest xzyk Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Just to make you aware also that TouchPal keyboard has the arrow functions as well, it's probably the only reason i'm keeping it on my phone !
