Guest moob Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Hi there, newbie here. Got my SF from orange and have installed the de-orangead rom and unlock the handset successfully etc. However, using my home WiFi connection, I'm unable to get any apps to install. I have tried reading elsewhere for solutions, and understand this is a relatively common issue, but I've tried clearing my cache on market, clearing data on google talk etc, to no avail. When I'm on Market, my AppBrain app is stuck on 'downloading' and won't progress any further - same with other app downloads. Anyone point me in the right direction? I've read that a factory reset is the way forward, how much info will this delete from my handset - would I need to reinstall the ROM etc? Cheers, and apologies for asking a question that's no doubt been answered before.
Guest mouseman99 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 It taking me 3/4 attempts to download from the market today for some reason. Not sure what is going on. Just says your item will be downloaded and then nothing happens

Is this the case?
Guest samjam Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 I've had someone on another forum suggest I need to make my first forey into Android Market via my data connection and not wifi. Is this the case? I believe that this is traditionally so, but I'm using Pauls Alpha-5 froyo which does not have that requirement. The answer therefore is "it depends on your ROM, and if you are not sure and are having trouble, then yes, use your mobile data connection just to be certain."
