Guest Weird Sun Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) Now we only use Power button to light the screen, except install the third party software. But if we do like this, blade will not be really to sleep and lead to waste battery. Beside, i think use POWER button to light screen that is not very convenience. Just like everybody know, ZTE blade source code have been open. Can we modify kernel to let Menu, HOME, BACK, VOL_UP OR Vol_down to light our blade screen? Let our blade usability much better? Edited January 7, 2011 by Weird Sun
Guest oh!dougal Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 It has seemed that controlling the power to those switches (they see no power at all in proper sleep), was within the stuff that ZTE have kept proprietary (secret) rather than open. I don't think that has changed with the 2.2 release. But it would be nice if it was public (notification led working during sleep too).
Guest targetbsp Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Umm... see Oh!dougals post. :D Yeah we'd all like that but...
Guest Azurren Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Umm... see Oh!dougals post. :P Yeah we'd all like that but... We would all enjoy something like this but the buttons are mapped at a hardware level.. While it is possible to change (Or make a workaround) the task / work involved is a tall order to ask of anyone :D
Guest TheDOC1 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 My Home, MenĂ¼ and Back-buttons all bring my SF from standby to light. Is this what you want or am I understanding something wrong here?
Guest bagge Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 My Home, MenĂ¼ and Back-buttons all bring my SF from standby to light. Is this what you want or am I understanding something wrong here? Even with charger unplugged?
Guest tard88 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) installed 2.2 now, but I just recognized today, even on 2.1 before, my home, back and menue buttons light the screen. I don't know what happened because two weeks ago, with the same rom (bladevillain) it didn't worked. well on 2.2 it's still (or also) working. both with an unplugged phone didn't test while charging.. -> or do I have to wait a long time until the 3 buttons aren't usable for that? Guest madnav Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 use widgetlocker app. it allows you to change lock UI and has an option known as 'Easy Unlock' which basically wakes up with any hardware button including power key. should serve your purpose. :D

Yes, you need to wait about 5 seconds for the phone to enter sleep.
