Guest Kingbhoy Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 So i turned my phone on a couple of days to get the message "This version of launcher pro has expired, please go to bla bla to get the new version" This then opens the internet up to the launcher pro site which is completely blank. If you press home it shows the same message and reopens the internet. Basically you cannot get to any screen apart from the internet so there is no way to get to normal settings etc to remove launcher pro, anyone got any ideas on how to get round this as my phone is pretty much useless now! Thanks
Guest alltheway3 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 If your phone is rooted, reflash the ROM onto it. This happened with my brother's HTC Hero that I gave him for his 19th birthday today :S Unfortunatly, he is 200 miles away and I had to explain how to flash a ROM to him...
Guest Simon O Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) Theres something very odd going on as the launcherpro website is half working, can't get on the forums. The author is awol too. Ok this only seems to happen with versions older than 0.8.2. What version did you have on the phone? Did it come pre-installed on a rom or did you push it to the phone or install from the market? Edited January 7, 2011 by flibblesan

Guest toyotahilux Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) Sorry if it's bad to use an external link, but this seems a pretty serious issue, here's an alternate fix: LauncherPro fix - Lifehacker No need to reflash :D Edited January 7, 2011 by toyotahilux

I do have a version older than 0.82 but from where i am now i dont think i can check, as far as i know it wasnt incuded on the ROM (i think i have Pauls first ROM from when the ZTE first came out in the UK) so i must have installed it from the market back when i got the phone. Thanks to toyotahilux also, il give that i go and report back :D Edited January 7, 2011 by Kingbhoy

Guest StevenHarperUK Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Versions older than 0.8.2 It also happens to the new one : To re-create the Bug (DONT DO IT) Set the Default HOMESCREEN to be HIGHER than the number of Screens Bang : no Launcher I had this last night on a device that I had just turned wifi and data off -- So I had to re-flash it. Maybe the developer needs an emergency mode - or a check for this.
Guest SimonTG01 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Reflash sounds a bit drastic. Can't you just adb rm the launcherpro apk, then when you hit home it'll go to standard launcher?

Guest Zleet Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 I had this happen a couple of hours ago when I went from stock rom to the custom Bladevillian. Luckily I had set up wifi during the initial setup so I think I went to either appbrain or straight to the market in the browser (maybe used appbrain to open market?) and just installed the newest version of launcher pro. Decided I want to upgrade to launcher pro plus to get rid of the upgrade prompt every time I move a widget. Anyone know how to stop Dolphin or paypal redirecting me to paypal mobile, i've set it to 'desktop' in Dolphin but it doesn't help. It's doing my head in as paypal mobile doesn't bring me to the transaction page so I can't get a code.
Guest scoobydoo99 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Interestingly, the launcher pro website seems to have disappeared? It was working yesterday - I had to update launcher pro on a few blades.
Guest CanAm.ls3 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) I'm still stuck in the browser screen, unfortunatly in my case, Wi-Fi was turned off. LP won't let you access phone settings to enable Wi-Fi! I have been on the LP site and downloaded the new version via the PC to the sd card and typed the file name into the URL bar to force launch a new app but it comes up 'File not found' so I'm doing something wrong.....anyone know what I'm doing wrong as this is really getting to me now as I'm a numpty at this!! ta Just to say, done it!!!!! Now I have to choose another launcher or upgrade to ProPlus?? Edited January 9, 2011 by CanAm.ls3

If it did you could maybe enable wifi there (settings) and then download launcherpro again from the app market in the browser.
