Guest Jygar Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Hi Guys, Recently replaced my old Magic with the SF after 2 years of ROMing with Cyanogen, I am feeling a little lost on the SF as the build seems a little dodgy and getting ROM support isn't like it is for HTC devices....have I made a mistake in getting rid of my Magic for a better screen and more memory (battery that holds charge) lol? Jy
Guest nvidiax Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) Hey Jygar, The SF community is so large here with many developers working on new roms. Just yesterday we got an official 2.2 kernel, so from here on the roms will just keep getting better. I'm guessing you are on the stock orange 2.1 rom? I would recommend trying Japanese Jellyfish (2.2) it contains the new kernel and has overclocking capacities :D The hero is very sluggish compared to the SF and the battery lasts 5 mins. Also as we now have an official 2.2 kernal, I hear that work is being done on a CyanogenMod Port Trust me you will get to love the SF! Edited January 7, 2011 by nvidiax

Thanks for the response I suppose I am a little out of my comfort zone as the HTC was often better supported due to the XDA community and Cyanogen. However I will try to help out as much as I can with testing.
Guest That-Guy Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 I am running Seb's 2.2 with the new kernel and its very clean and runs perfect for me. I have always had great success with his ROMs as he keeps things simple :D
Guest fryguyse Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 I also had a Magic before i bought my OSF and i don't regret it one bit. Sure when i first tried the OSF i thought the launcher was a bit slow, but then i flashed it with a FroYo ROM and installed LauncherPro and it became very usable.
