Guest Rotmann Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Hallo! I have tried yesterday evening to get my GenieWidget (weather and news) to be translucent (50% invisible) to match the other widgets I have (FancyWidget Pro, SwitchPro and the LauncherPro widgets) but i had no success. There is documentation on xda-developers and there is a program in the market but after applying the themes on my widgets nothing happened. Here's how it works: 1. Download the MetaMorph file (invisible widget) of your choice and place it on your sdcard. LINK 2. The initial widget you want to modify has to be as .apk in system/app on the telephone. Push it with ADB or use Root Explorer and copy it there. 3. Download MetaMorph from the Android Market. 4. Open the MetaMorph app, select always allow, then press allow. Select Pick theme. Go to the folder where you put your metamorph files and select the one you want to apply. 5. Once MetaMorph has gone through the process of applying the theme, You are done. Unless you applied a morph which has framework-res.apk in it, then you will have to reboot your phone, then you are done. Read the FAQ from XDA (first post, down) in the post before trying.
Guest jt_mcg Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Or get genie widget here fully transparent or translucent.! I pulled the original, then pushed this in /system/app and rebooted!
Guest Rotmann Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Hi thanks for the link, i searched for already made widgets but did not find these, just tried them but I am not happy with the result. The translucent frame has no round edges and goes from pixel 1 to pixel 480 horizontally and does not fit as it should. The other widgets leave free 20-30 pixels left and right and are rounded for the eye candy. Also I cannot select to preload ONLY the images but the whole articles which is too data and battery demanding.
