i get page not found :D

Strange, works fine for me.

It says:

"LAS VEGAS--ZTE isn't announcing devices besides its tablets, but we were able to glean a few things during our meeting with the Chinese phone manufacturer at CES. Chiefly, ZTE is looking for a home for the ZTE Blade, an Android-powered smartphone that's already been released in Europe and Asia.

We took a look at the Blade--it has a 3.5-inch touch screen, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. In global markets, it currently runs Android 2.1 but should be upgradable to Android 2.2 (Froyo). Right now ZTE says it's in talks with major and regional U.S. carriers to find the Blade a home.

Design-wise, our first impressions peg it as run of the mill: black with some silver accents and a soft-touch back cover. It's certainly more of an entry-level device from what we could see, best suited toward casual or newer smartphone users.

More significant is that this would be ZTE's first smartphone in the U.S. market, just as the Blade was also the company's first smartphone in Japan. At this point, it's too soon to tell where the Blade will stick and if it's sharp enough to penetrate the U.S. market or at least give ZTE more mindshare among phone owners.

This CES also marks the first time that ZTE has reached out to the U.S. press, CNET learned. We take that as an indication of more ZTE smartphones to come."

If the phone started selling heap loads in the US too - no doubt cheap accessories would be avalible soon!

On the bright side - more developers to make better roms?

Also the more countries it goes to the more chance we have of them updating the software to 2.3 at some stage

and even better if it sells well make an updated phone with a better processor and a decent camera/flash to go with it

Someone needs to post a proper review of the blade at the bottom of that comment on it

I guess if it get's high sales in the US too, Cyanogen team will think about supporting it :D

Yes, Seb, we know you're in the US, but you bought your Blade in Europe, and usually modders can't afford to fly here just to buy a phone :P

There are at least another 3 rolling around the US since I bought 4 of of them, for friends back in the US.

And I'm sure I've seen other yankies hanging around this forum...

I do welcome more users... but I also worry that we're going to end up with yet another 'type' of device to support, since any american builds are going to have different radio hardware...

tho maybe verizon can get it, and we'll have CMDA too... lovely.

Wasn't there a feeling that the Japanese phone was quad band already? (Or is the US different again?)

Im not sure, we never got the bottom of that.. that I saw, but I'm sure the 'perfect rom' we are getting on Wednesday will fix all that..

Actually I want the big modders (no offense, I meant the ones from the beginning like Firerat, Cyanogen, Amon_RA, even Koush, or some others). More devs means more knowledge, faster deploying of stuff, and so on. I hope you understand :D

This will be good news for ZTE Blade owners, more exposure may mean, a offical Stock 2.2 ROM will come out.

Do you know when? because i'm stuck on Android 1.1 Eclair until a 2.2 Froyo rom comes out, I don't know how a OTA will work because i am on T-Mobile (sim Unlocked phone) and i'm running the Hungarian Hedgehog rom :D
