Guest oe79 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 I have TFT San Francisco running Paul's alpha 3. I took my Asda Mobile sim out of my old phone and put it in the the SF and the phone booted without needing to use the unlock code. I had to sign in to Google again but that was all, making and receiving calls works. How come I didn't have to use the unlock code? Thanks

Thanks I think Pauls Alpha 3 was based on a leaked Chinese development ROM so doesn't have a Sim Network check in place. If you were to move to a ROM based on a consumer release then you would be prompted for the unlock code
Guest Arr Too Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Yes, and if you move to ROM based on one from a different region it may be locked to an operator other than Orange.
