Guest Tony Evans Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 I am running R6 and all is well until I need to restart the Vega. Once restarted I get the black screen with only the backlight on. I have tried to do a factory restore but it always fails on the system image restore at the last step (please see below). Can anyone offer some suggestions of how I can solve this problem? Guest danielj58 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Seems odd, what exactly are you trying to flash? Your nandroid backup or the stock firmware? Either which way, you need to change the size of your partition by editing the "flash.cfg" file from the extracted installer. To do so, extract the installer (e.g. using 7zip) to a folder Navigate to that folder Open the "flash.cfg" file in a text editor (notepad will do) and find this block [partition] name=APP id=8 type=data allocation_policy=sequential filesystem_type=yaffs2 size=121649088 file_system_attribute=0 partition_attribute=0 allocation_attribute=0x10 percent_reserved=0 filename=system.img Change the size entry to the exact size of your system.img file in bytes run lvds.bat
Guest Tony Evans Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Thanks very much for that. the restore worked perfectly with your advice. My remaining problem is to establish why upon reboot I get the black screen with backlight that, requires the restore of the Nandroid backup - perhaps its something to do with the Clockwork mod that I pushed from adb?
