Guest MroziQ Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) Hi guys. I was looking for similar topics, I read many of them but on all tutorials was that I should have an "original recovery". When I bought Blade I check out it - turned off the phone and turning on with pressed volume down - nothing happened, phone just turned on normally. When I uploaded a custom ROM then recovery 2.5.1.8 ofc is available :D If any1 would know - my phone warms up under camera (inside) when I play games. This leads to many reboots.. I want to give it to guarantee. Edited January 8, 2011 by MroziQ
Guest MroziQ Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) No ideal? Guaranty lost? Edited January 8, 2011 by MroziQ
Guest MDCFan Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 I think it should be somewhere here in forum. In worst case you could flash a zeroed file, I think.
Guest MroziQ Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Exactly? Any other ideas? I'll send it in monday. This reboots (even on stock rom) are really annoying :P If I send it with recovery they can caccel quarantee? :D

Guest MroziQ Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 As I understand, I should install it same like before recovery? And is it safety? It looks like files for Orange San Francisco, not for almost non-branded ZTE Blade from Play (Poland).

It does say to flash via fastboot which is how clockwork is installed. I am not an expert in this area, just pointing you in the right direction.
Guest MroziQ Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Hmm ok thanks :D Does any1 have an idea? And if somebody tested this way above on OSF - does your OSF react after thar on Power On+volume down? Sth is shown? Sth like "original recovery"?
Guest triobot Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 would you not just use fastboot and push a stock rom on?
Guest gambieter Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Hmm ok thanks :D Does any1 have an idea? And if somebody tested this way above on OSF - does your OSF react after thar on Power On+volume down? Sth is shown? Sth like "original recovery"? Have you used the search function yourself, as this would answer your questions, especially with the tips already given? The easiest way is indeed installing a stock ROM via Clockworkmod, and then replace the recovery partition using Fastboot with the original recovery. Very easy, I have done this Friday evening in order to return a defective OSF.
Guest MroziQ Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) and then replace the recovery partition using Fastboot with the original recovery. @up: Have you ready my first post? :D I don't have sth like "original recovery" on my not branded ZTE. would you not just use fastboot and push a stock rom on? I installed custom rom via recovery so I'll try to do this via fastboot if it could help :P Edited January 9, 2011 by MroziQ
Guest Cletusarrarr Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 when you mentioned the links givesn are for the stock recovery im guessing these are for the orange SF variant ? even im looking to return my faiulty Orange SF and as such needto flash the original recovery
Guest MroziQ Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) Ok m8s, these files are just in stock rom's backup files :P But.. I should connect my phone via usbe when phone is turning on when holding volume down? Clockwork Recovery is turning on then, and after typing in cmd "fastboot flash system system.img" it showc < waiting for device >. I tried to uninstall device. When I connect it then windowsh shows "your device is ready to use" but cmd shows the same warning. I chose option "update driver" and chose driver files from my hard disci. All done but cms agains shows < waitong for device > B) What's wrong? Only problems with this device :D Edited January 9, 2011 by MroziQ

Guest MroziQ Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Ehhh sure, thanks. My polish forum android.com.pl is turned off 2nd day and I couldn't check it. Ok, recovery loaded but I check it and as I can see in backup was 2.5.1.8 -.-' There's no way to totally DELETE recovery?
Guest Ronald Hummelink Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) Take one of sebastian404's stock roms that include a recovery image (most of them) This is the stock recovery image, so it returns the phone to factory state, including the recovery partition. His site is having issues, but you may end up lucky: http://android.podtwo.com/roms/stock/ Note: you don't want to delete the recovery, you want it returned to factory, and above does that Edited January 9, 2011 by Ronald Hummelink
Guest MroziQ Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) Thanks PLAY: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /roms/stock/PLAY_P729VV1.0.0B03-update_signed.zip on this server. Apache/1.3.41 Server at android.podtwo.com Port 80 Could any1 download this ROM and upload only file recovery.img ? @edit: Ok I found it on XDA. If it could help I'll tell write then about:) Edited January 9, 2011 by MroziQ
Guest vareBlade Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Thanks PLAY: Could any1 download this ROM and upload only file recovery.img ? Files are currently unaviable due to continuing bandwidth abuse.
Guest MroziQ Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I don't understand how to apply it :D Inside update.zip there's META-INF folder, system folder and boot.img file and it's all. Is it not correctly as I guess?

Guest vareBlade Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) Did you flash it through fastboot? Must be same process as the one you do to flash the clockworks mod in your phone Edited January 9, 2011 by vareBlade
Guest MroziQ Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 So what command should I use? fastboot flash **** update.zip ?
Guest vareBlade Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) Im not exactly sure, i never tried it myself so dont take my words for credit but what i think is You need this file: *(which got boot.img and recovery.img) http://content.modaco.net/dropzone/blade-b...very-images.zip You extract it and flash the .img files dont remember exactly the command, should be something like this: fastboot-windows flash recovery recovery.img fastboot-windows flash boot boot.img Dont do it yet, till someone else confirms it, cause i dont wanna take your phone down with me X_x Edited January 9, 2011 by vareBlade
Guest MroziQ Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) No1 can confirm that? Is that problem really so difficult? :D Edited January 9, 2011 by MroziQ
