Guest Sebastian404 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) So as most of you will know I've had no end of problems with my hosting company, there still seems to be a DdOS attack going on against my host slowing things down for everyone.. I know a couple of people offered but like an idiot I lost the emails they sent me... so I'm looking for those very nice people to offer... I'm mostly looking to host the stock recovery images.. there are curently 20 of them, and take up about 2gig of space in total.. Ideally I'm looking for the more people the better so we could do some sort of multiple mirroring thing... The ideal method would be if you exchanged SSH keys and I'd just RSYNC the files over, that way I could just push out new recoveries as they arrive.... So if anyone wants to be come a target for upset Chinese DDos attacks please let me know :D Edited January 8, 2011 by Sebastian404

Guest Lew247 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) I've got hosting with Blacknight in Ireland, I've only got 10GB of space but around 4GB is free and doing nothing 100GB monthly traffic as well so should be no problem there I've no problem with having it as a mirror if you want Edited January 8, 2011 by Lew247
Guest Lew247 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 have you considered putting them multi-upload? it sucks as you go to go through so much cr@p to actually get to download instead of clicking one link - unless you pay to become a member and I don't see the point as I'd have to then pay to use rapidshare and loads of other places Much simpler having a simple download link on a reliable server where you simply click one and it downloads
Guest gambieter Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Sebastian, what about Dropbox? You start with 2 GB, and if a couple of people accept your invite, then you have easily enough space. Just make a few extra email addresses with Gmail, and you have plenty of space and you are in control :D .

Bandwidth is still limited (10GB/day) if you are using free account, better (250GB/day) if you pay them money. https://www.dropbox.com/help/45 Edited January 8, 2011 by MDCFan

It does say 10 GB per file, so it could be a solution for Sebastian in the short term. 10 GB is much more than I have with my own homepage (3 GB, not even sure for how much time...)
Guest veehexx Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 wild sugestion; torrent tracker? could use one of the many trackers out there (opentracker is one i think), or setup our own; modaco have the source files and act as a 'boost' server, and those who have downloaded it can seed; would save bandwidth and no doubt improve speeds too. (similar to how ubuntu torrent downloads work)
Guest nvidiax Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 I can host :D I'm currently hosting free for people. I have about 30 domains setup and the bandwidth is at 0.3% :P I have more than enough storage for your roms.

Cause lot of people download these Roms daily so the numbers are going high easily. Specially when someone posted the links in XDA if i remember correctly Seb lost like 20GB of bandwidth in a day?
