Guest bearded1 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) Just thought i'd make some kinda list of benchmarking results for info.. reason being i was looking at the Notion Ink website and saw some video of the benchmarks the Adam was running so i though i'd compare - the vid in question is my Vega is on 1.06.5 with the r6 + performance pack, and just for a laugh i thought i'd include my pc (IE8) and samsung galaxy s (running froyo 2.2.1 - yeehaa!) for a comparison - all using their default browser for browser based tests. the first benchmark run is browsermark by rightwave - higher is better - http://browsermark.rightware.com/browsermark/index.action my pc: 52877 Adam: 51049 Vega: 49804 Galaxy S: 32658 second is the sunspider javascript benchmark - lower is apparently better - http://www2.webkit.org/perf/sunspider-0.9/...der-driver.html my pc: 3601.4ms Vega: 4234.2ms Adam: 4363.6ms Galaxy S: 7355.4ms they only did the two tests but i thought i'd pop in the futuremark peacekeeper browser test http://clients.futuremark.com/peacekeeper/index.action my pc: 1118 - ie8 Vega: 744 - shows as safari v4.0 Galaxy S: 488 - again it shows as safari v4.0 then i thought i'd run the popular quadrant benchmark (on the marketplace) - interestingly the vega skips (or seems to skip) the 12 cpu tests.. - higher is better! Vega: 2102 Galaxy s: 1104 lastly - neocore (on the marketplace again) - and to be fair to the vega the screen setting is 1024x600 vs the galaxy s 480x800 so it has more work to do.. Vega: 45.0fps Galaxy S: 55.6fps any other benchies we could run? Edited January 8, 2011 by bearded1

This is only results on the pc Edited January 9, 2011 by carl rose

Guest thedicemaster Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 the quadrant cpu tests seem to run "fine" here. although it might be possible the already amazing cpu score of 1325(total score when doing only a cpu-test) i'm getting should be higher, because quadrant seems to recognize only 1 core. still, getting a 2000+ score(2177) of which less than 5% is I/O is very good(majority of scores above 2000 use filesystem cheats creating ridiculously fast read/write test results) and for cpu score comparison: quadrant scores the cpu as 6626 for individual scoring.
Guest Restless_UK Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) First test - 732611 Second Test - 225.6ms Third - 9565 Pc Results.. with chrome v8.. Firefox 3 results were at least half... :D Edited January 9, 2011 by Restless_UK
Guest bearded1 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 what can i say - internet explorer does not score well! it might be cos i was running 32bit ie on my 64 bit system? firefox got maaaassive scores but seemed not to want to finish one of the tests so i retested on ie. chrome seems to be the way to go for browser speed. are there any other android benchmarks we could throw at the vega?
