Guest Cronnix Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) I already formatted the card for use with a2sd once, which worked fine, but decided to reduce the ext size from 500 to 150 mb. However, this time, phone just wont recognise sdcard, format it, or read update.zip from it. When I try to install a ROM, it says: E:Cant mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or dev/block/mmcblk0) (invalid argument) E:Cant mount SDCARD:Update.zip Installation aborted. When I try to install a zip from Sd, it just says it cant mount /sdcard What I did was to boot up Gparted (it strangely enough showed the sdcard as unformatted), make a FAT32 partition, reduce it in size and then make a EXT3 partition from the free space. What did I do wrong, and what can I do to fix it, please? :D Is the only way to buy new sdcard now? :P Edited January 9, 2011 by Cronnix
Guest gambieter Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Which custom ROM are you using? Try it in Windows with the free Minitool Partition Wizard Home Edition, and make first a primary FAT32 partition and in the remaining space a primary EXT2 partition.
Guest dmxpowa Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) i had the same issue once. just repartition it in clockwork (i think its in the advanced menu) and it will work. just flash the 2.5.1.8 or w/e version that Sebastian "made". Edited January 9, 2011 by dmxpowa

Cant get fastboot to work, so I guess I am screwed xD When I try to install fastboot, cmd just pops ups for a sec, and then vanish. I was using fibblesan latest 2.2 rom btw. Tried to partition it in windows, but same results :/
Guest vareBlade Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) Did you try formatting it to fat 32 from windows as well? And then partition it from Seb's version of clockworks mod I got mine fixed this way Edited January 9, 2011 by vareBlade
Guest Cronnix Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Did you try formatting it to fat 32 from windows as well? And then partition it from Seb's version of clockworks mod I got mine fixed this way Well, problem is that I cant install fastboot to update the clockwork. When I isntalll the fastboot-windows.exe, the cmd flashes for a second and nothing happens. When I try to run a fastboot command, it says it does not recognise "fastboot" as a command. Any ideas? :/ (win 7)
Guest vareBlade Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 you use the command as fastboot or fastboot-windows? cause you have to use the command as the .exe is named.
Guest PeaNut_HU Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) Tried 'fastboot-windows' too, says it is not recognized as an internal or external command. You are at least the 1000th user, that does not recognize the name of the file he/she unpacks. :D If you do a "dir /s" command in the directory you unpacked fastboot, you could have recognized its simply called "fastboot.exe". Just use "fastboot" command simply not "fastboot-windows". :P Also if you have problems formatting/partitioning the memory card in the phone, it may be useful to get the card out and clean the contacts. Also maybe if you have a memory card reader you could partition it using the card reader, then put back to phone and partition the rest using clockworkmod as already suggested. Guest vareBlade Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Indeed, show us a screenshot of your folder
Guest Cronnix Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Damn, this was stupid of me. I though fastboot is something you need to first install and then run as a command, instead of just putting them both in same folder and running the right command. It was fastboot-windows.exe after all. Thanks a lot for help with it. However, even after partitioning the sdcard with clockwork (~128 mb ext and 32 mb swap. I did partition it to FAT32 first in windows), the following error comes when I try to chose "install zip from SD": E:Cant mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or dev/block/mmcblk0) (invalid argument) E:Can't mount /sdcard

Guest Cronnix Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) I spoke to soon.. I seems not be able to format the card right way. I format it through PC, place a ROM on it, can install it from clockwork, but when booting phone it says "SD card is either blank or have unsupported file system". I cant format it from phone either, nothing happens when I chose the option to do so. So I still cant use the card from phone :/ partitioning from clockwork doesnt solve the issue either. Any ideas what to do? :D Edited January 9, 2011 by Cronnix

Guest Cronnix Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) Is the SDCard in a USB Mounting device? or in the phone? It is in phone. However, the problem solved it self automagically and I am not sure what was the cause. I took out the sdcard, cleaned everything with alcohol, formatted it again on windows, then in clockwork.. And it works once again. God knows what was the reason. Nevertheless thanks for the help, that partition program will come in handy in future. I now dont dare to breath on it, incase it will break again -.- Edited January 9, 2011 by Cronnix
