Android/Windows Video Chat

I'm going into hospital soon a long way from home for a week or so and am trying to find a video chat client that will run on android (for my vega) and windows(for home pc).

I seem to be fast running out of options as most only seem to do mobile>mobile, tried yahoo but the video quality is awful and incredibly slow. Installed iMovicha last night as that looks good but it just sits on the vega saying "signing in"

Any pointers to a good quality (don't mind paying) and know to work video chat software?

Thanks

Hi there, good luck in Hospital first.

I use Fring so I can talk with my parents on my Iphone (well I cant see them but they can me) the quality is ok?

you could maybe try Skype?

not sure if I have helped much, regards!

Yahoo Messenger has now got a video chat facility which works rather well between Android, Windows and some iPhone devices. If you do a search in this forum for 'Yahoo' you should find out all the background info you need and it is FREE on all platforms which is a bonus. :D

Cheers guys, tried fring but no windows client, tried yahoo but the video quality was truly awful, updates every 3-4 seconds and you could barely make out the image.

I'll have a search for yahoo anyway in case I'm doing something wrong.

Had a look at skype but they don't seem to offer an android video option yet.

Well Yahoo were probably thinking it'd mostly be used by phone users rather than PC or Tablet users but if you get stuck for ideas to improve it their customer support desk is available using an online chat window here and they are very helpful.
