Guest druid101 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 So I'm about to update to Japenese Jellyfish RL6, don't worry, I know how. What annooys me is that when I do the wipe, I will lose all data, such as text messages, contacts, and most importantly, Angry Birds save files and Doodlejump high scores. Is there any way to back these up, or not wipe them? And if so, where could I locate the files?
Guest vareBlade Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) Use Titanium Backup? It can backup all user + system data Edited January 9, 2011 by vareBlade
Guest evilfury Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 How do you do that with Titanium backup. I always have to backup applications one by one?
Guest Gryphonic Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 menu button > batch 3 words, and I've just facepalmed. HOW did i not find that? cheers :D
Guest UncleFista Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 'cos it's pretty well hidden :D Doesn't matter to me anyway, T-backup is the program I've had the most trouble with, keeps hanging in different places when I try backup, on different roms etc. ;(
Guest Jockc Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Last night I upgraded from modaco r4 2.1 to jellyfish r5 2.2 and the backups that titanium took for my contacts/sms messages weren't compatible with 2.2, when I restored the backup for contacts it just started making my phone crash, had to do a clockwork factory reset to fix. Luckily I was able to open the backup file on my PC and query the SQLite db for contacts and export them to csv. No such luck with sms messages though.
Guest wadgel Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) If your contacts are syncing with Google, then these are 'backed up' already. As for SMS - I would recommend "SMS Backup +" backs up (and restores) SMS to your Gmail account, so can be accessed from anywhere. Can be scheduled. Edited January 9, 2011 by wadgel
Guest Kthulhu Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Titanium its great for Apps but does not back up SMS and or call log..I am using "Mybackup root" an so far so good. http://www.appbrain.com/app/mybackup-root/...id.MyBackupRoot
Guest Waaang Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 This may be a stupid question, but when im restoring my apps using Tianium i have to confirm the installation everytime it restores a new app. Is there a way so that i dont need to do this everytime it restores an app ?
Guest Arr Too Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Is there a way so that i dont need to do this everytime it restores an app ? Yes, upgrade from the free version.
Guest Skillganon Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 If you are just flashing from RLS1 > RLS2 and so forth of the same rom than wipe is not neccesary and it is a good way to retain all your apps and data
Guest targetbsp Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 (edited) Titanium its great for Apps but does not back up SMS and or call log.. It does, but it's covered under 'dialler storage' rather than the more obvious 'messaging'. And you need to reboot after the restore to see the messages. And yes, I did lose all my texts when changing rom before discovering this. Edited January 28, 2011 by targetbsp
