If you want to try a different home screen out, and I do mean different, then have a bash at netfront life on the market, if nothing else it will raise an eyebrow.

i've tried that for few weeks at least

though it's not flexible at all and the widget disappear every time I reboot the phone or restart the launch (coz the launcher crash)

the visual effect is very very cool, but the stability needs some improvement

it works very smoothly with ZTE V880 and i'm very happy about that !
