Guest bidhan Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 When I bought my advent vega online from PC world, it also asked the option of adding micro sd card in the shopping list. So i bought a 16 GB micro sd card. Once i received my Advent vega, i installed market according to the modaco forum with the 4GB Sd memory received in the advent vega box. I want to know if it is possible to replace the built in 4 GB memory with the 16 GB micro SD card. Also , Do i have to install market again ? I appreciate any reply. Many thanks. regards, bidhan
Guest thedicemaster Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 applications are installed in the 512MB internal storage. you can just pull out the 4GB microSD and insert the 16GB, if any files are needed on the microSD they will be re-made(unless you specifically moved an app to sd, in which case you need to move it back first)

You shouldn't have to re-install or change anything. HTH

I have tried 2 different ones with no success.

Whilst you are on the subject does the MicroSD card need to be formatted after installation and before files are copied back?
Guest jellywobbles Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Whilst you are on the subject does the MicroSD card need to be formatted after installation and before files are copied back? Download SDFormatter HERE - much better for formatting SD cards than Windows!

Guest Touch Graphite Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Whilst you are on the subject does the MicroSD card need to be formatted after installation and before files are copied back? Ive had mixed results with this. I bought a Sandisk Class 2 16Gb card for my Desire, formatted it using the Android setting, then using my laptop using Vista, copied over the 4GB of files, which took forever, and sure enough, it didnt work. However, formatting it with windows, then copying the files, the desire saw the files when plugged it without an Android format. Weird.

No problem mounting my 32Gb card. The big problem is it is a cheapo from China and drops bits so haven't used it in anger, trying to sort things with vendor.
