Guest TerryH Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Can someone tell me which Video-Chat is working for you? Tried the Yahoo messenger with my friend (has a Mac) and we can't use videochat, only voice. Skype has at the moment only voice... Thank you for your assistance!

Yahoo video chat definitely works on the Vega and I'd be surprised if it didn't work on the Mac. Why not go and chat online to the Yahoo support team at this address :D P.S. Your Yahoo profiles need to be showing that you are both over 18 years old for the video to work too by the way. Edited January 10, 2011 by trevor432990

Yes, I think that should be the problem, do you know where I can change this setting, can't find this in the web-login from Yahoo

Guest TerryH Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Thank you for your help, it seems like an issue with the bandwith, we tried first with Netbook (pc) to Mac, after some tine it was working. Can't remember the difficulties with older versions... then I switched to my Tablet and it connects also in video-mode now, but without showing me the video fron my friend. I just have here a 3G reception over WiFi, could be a matter of bandwith.

You're welcome ... sorry to hear you've still got probs so a few more questions:- - Whilst you cannot see your friends video can he/she see yours? - I presume your friend has changed their account DOB to be > 18 years? - Have you both gone through the camera/mic set-up procedure correctly? From my own experience some cameras are not picked up correctly (e.g. cameras running through a PCI card) whereas USB cameras are mostly detected Probably best to take your Vega to your friends place (if possible) and try again over just wi-fi to test your set-up first then once proven move on to a 3G connection test.
Guest T4ylor Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 I have noticed since using this for awhile that the Vega seems to struggle some what. Not just with quality as this is to be expected from a 1.3mp camera but mainly the picture freezes as if the processer can not handle this. I know that the processers should have no problems but something is not quite right which can make it un usable at times. I have tried this in many different ways Vega to Vega, Vega to Iphone and Vega to Laptop both over the same wifi network and different ones with all other devices running smooth and error free. I don’t know if updates will sort this but we have stopped using it because it’s got so

Might be worth you contacting the Yahoo support team (see link above in previous post). Be interested to hear how you get on.
