Guest Musuko Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 (edited) Heres a useful tip for apps that are not working at full screen. 1.Download an application called Spare Parts from the Android Market and install it. 2.Open Spare Parts, and scroll down to “Compatibility Mode”. 3.Uncheck Compatibility Mode, and then recheck it. 4.Exit Spare Parts. 5.Reboot your Advent Vega. 6.Once it boots, open Spare Parts again. 7.Scroll down to “Compatibility Mode” and uncheck it. 8.Reboot again. All the typical stock Android applications will now use all of the available resolution. Excellent for games. :D Edited January 10, 2011 by Musuko
Guest simonta Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 (edited) It's personal choice but I prefer LCD Density. Spare parts works but the app layout gets stretched. I prefer LCD density for many apps, e.g. MyRemote, downside is a reboot is required. Incidentally, LCD density would be a good solution for anyone who is sight impaired. Guest chockimon Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 The spareparts fix didn't work for me. I still can't get Asphalt 1.3.8 to work fullscreen. Is there anything else I can try?

Guest premieral Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 Did you read the post just three above this one? i am a trifle short sighted ( i think thats what it is , i cant see small writing ) so could be tempted to try lcd density simon, does it mess any settings up at all or is it a universal increase in size across the board which the vega would manage ( does that even make sense? ) basically i just want to know if i use it will everything become clearer without my pages looking naff :) regards Al

I used it on Vegacomb to go from the 120dpi setting to 140dpi because being a chap of advancing years, the old peepers aint what they once were. It doesn't mess anything up and is totally reversible. Standard Vega ROMs are 160dpi so if you find it hard to read text, you could try 180 or 200 (the bigger the number, the bigger the text). If you find a setting that works for you, there is an edit you can do to make it permanent, but still reversible. Cheers
Guest Minimonkey Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 Cheers for tip i will try this on vegacomb as I found it a bit small.
