Guest Chadjad Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 (edited) Alright so, to begin, I have the Acer Liquid E. I rooted it about 2 months ago, and installed the Liquid Community ROM. My phone had no problems with the ROM, so I was extremely happy. Today, my phone worked fine all day, after I get home I set it down, take a small nap, and wake up to something horrid. My screen is "dead" so to speak. It's almost as if it has quite a few cracks near the middle of the screen, but I believe it's the pixels. What's worse? I can't work anything on my phone.. It won't respond to any of my touches. I've tried installing other ROMS, yet to no avail. What can I do? Sadly, I did not make nandroid backup before I rooted.. (was quite anxious) So is there any way to restore the phone to 100% factory, or as close as possible? Also, I'm with Rogers. Please help as I plan on returning the phone tomorrow with their handset protection deal. My main concern is the malez recovery, is there any way to uninstall that? Thank you. Install official acer rom, it will replace recovery with official acer recovery
Guest Chadjad Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Install official acer rom, it will replace recovery with official acer recovery Thanks for your reply. Could you link me to the official Acer ROM? And, will this leave any traces of it being rooted? Sorry for seeming paranoid, I'm just worried about losing $400.
Guest Harness Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 It won't leave any traces. It kinda sucks that this happened, but to make it MOST look like rogers, I'd almost say you should install 4.002.14 and run my Rogers rom overtop (It puts the PA_ROG crap in system info), if that's even possible with the phone in the state it's in. Will it accept touches from the bottom buttons and volume keys (ie, can you boot into recovery?) Harness.

Thing is the screen won't work what-so-ever. Can't even unlock the phone. Ontop of that, I put a lock on my SIM card for security, now even I can't get in it. Ironic, no? And would you be able to link me to 4.002.14, so I know I'm downloading the correct one? Edited January 11, 2011 by Chadjad

What if you tried using that to see if you can get your phone to display with that method to see if the it just the screen or if the phone itself is buggered. I've tried screencast in linux and it displays my screen but I cannot control my phone from the PC. Looking through the screencast wiki, it looks like windows users can control their phone with this software. Edited January 11, 2011 by ikirt
