How do you intend using google goggles with a front facing camera... :D

And Even if you could make it work, the cameras resolution is more than poor, to make it useful

SENSE, THINK...

( don't mean to be rude, but some posts are just beyond funny.....)

It actually worked fine before the update in much the same way that the barcode scanner works.

It was quite simple to aim the camera although by the sound of it some people may have problems with basic coordination.

Anyway thanks for taking the time to make the very helpful replies.

I forgot to add in my haste that you can also use the usb camera.

i was thikning of installing this myself but i would find it too tempting to cheat at suduku.... a camera is a camera still, with the size of the screen you should still see what your scanning..

Barcode scanner is working fine using my Sanyo Xacti camera with the usb host so I was hoping to get Goggles to work again too. I know it was working with the onboard camera but I never got around to trying it with the usb one. I have tried reinstalling the app but it just closes a few seconds after starting.

Guys when you say the Goggles program is crashing do you mean it is 'force closing' each time or just going back to the screen where you launched it from?

The reason I ask is that from my own experience with another program Slingplayer Mobile it was having a problem loading and daft as it seems the only way I could get it to load initially was to keep pressing the icon until it did. It took 20+ icon hits before it eventually burst into life but since that first launch I am now able to launch it with 5 hits or less.

Now I've no idea what is going on inside the Vega when it does this but at a guess I'd say each time you hit the icon it moves from the previously failing program instruction to the next until it gets back on track or something.

Anyway, it may be worth testing this approach to see if Goggles responds in a similar fashion eventually. Good luck :D
