Guest gambieter Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 There isn't even an official 2.2 ROM, so: no, not for a long time.
Guest cobhc Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 There is an official 2.2 for some variants, but there more than likely won't be one for the UK version, and definitely not 2.3. Only way we'll get 2.3 is if someone manages to port it over.
Guest ty_hot Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Thats what I meant with custom ROM.
Guest rjm2k Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Any chance of a custom 2.3 ROM? Put it this way, on here we knew about the Gingerbread source and had a rom "up and running" before ZTE even knew the source was out (they asked me where we got the source from), so I think it will be a while before they release anything. Whether or not it will ever make it to the Blade, or they will come up with another phone instead, who knows. Hopefully the fact that they are expanding into America (hopefully with 2.2) they may have to provide one increment (ie to 2.3) which we may be able to extract and hack.
Guest sawta Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 It runs..... slowly..... with no connectivity and with an annoying touch screen multi tap bug (you press the letter s and you get 3 over the course of a second). I cant wait for gingerblade but currently we need to get drivers, ril and initialisation scripts ported to even think of getting it running in a satisfactory way.

Fixed that and there's wifi but won't be properly ready for a couple of months
Guest IronDoc Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 How I understand it is that if we get RIL working, then porting CM, MIUI, Gingerbread etc shouldn't be that hard. There's not been any real sign that RIL will be working in the foreseeable future though.

Yea @ the moment im trying to build a frankenrom with the ril from 2.2 and corrected build.prop and init scripts with the 2.6.32 kernel, does not look promising

Guest EndruBoy Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 (edited) And I don't think that we really need 2.3. It's only contains minor bugfixes and improvements. I think 2.2 is good enough. Edited January 11, 2011 by EndruBoy
Guest julakali Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 2.3 has a SIP stack which could be interesting for some...
