Hardware Case Customisation?

Hi everyone

I signed up to thie site because I am buying one of these blade phones. My local Orange shop though only has the white TFT ones available. I don't mind buying a white one as long as I can totally debrand from Orange and that includes the stupid logo. Is there someone who sells different cases on ebay, I am sure I saw somone mention that they had a different case before.

The other thing I was wondering before buying this was the battery life in relation too watching movies on it. I plan to watch videos for roughly 45 minutes (my commute) in and another 45 mins at lunch and then a final 45 mins on the commute home. With a TFT screen could the phone withstand that with one battery (bearing in mind i will disable bluetooth and have it on airplane mode to conserve as much battery as possible)?

Thank you for anyone who can help, and I look forward to being here and learning about this phone. Crazy buzz about it!

I should add I mean actual cases, not the rubber protectors.

I don't think anyone has ever tried using it as you are suggesting.. But with data and sync turned off (Or with aeroplane mode turned on) throughout the day I think it could easily manage it

As for the logo on the back.. The white blade doesn't have a rubber coating so the ol' sugar cube method could work, if you have the ballz :D

Rom de-branding is easy

Different cases? None available at this time, several people have been looking for replacement back covers but no luck

Yeah may as well, better than having a stupid looking orange square on the back of it !

Cheers mate

plenty of threads discussing cases mate , dont think there is an actual replacement case at market yet , as for battery life , you be lucky to get 45mins out of it watchin video

Ah now this is bad news for me, really puts me off if that was true. I want it to watch movies more than i do an actual phone!

I got an hour and a half of Youtube streaming (3g) out of it and it lasted me until I turned it off to charge at around 12am. (Using the phone as normal)

Typically I steam videos for at least 30mins every morning as part of my generally blade usage

Im not looking to stream though I should say, im talking about MP4 or whatever. It should cope with MP4 for longer than 3 hours a day?

That's what I was thinking. 3g/wifi streaming is double the battery use than local playback.

My logic is that if people can get 3days+ out of the battery with light use then you should at least be able to get 2 and a half hours of heavy use

On the screen printed Orange logo thing, I wonder whether Isopropyl Alcohol would remove it? I'm pretty sure Acetone would, but then it might also remove a lot of the case too. Perhaps a dash of petrol?

Anyone brave enough to try?

I dont see why u are so into this logo-removing..its a cheap (and very good price/abilities) branded chinese phone, why are u so insisting on logo removal?:D

lets just say i support celtic and having anything to do with Orange would be a very bad thing :D

If your english you may not understand that but any scottish or northern irish person will

After watching 2 hours of vids you will still have around 60% battery life (no need to turn into airplane mode really, cell standby on 3G with auto-sync on eats ~1% or less an hour). If you stream the videos it should be around 40% after two hours. I got some little android stickers (3x2cm) on eBay to get read of the orange logo, very cool.

If someone sold the right size android stickers (The size displayed on most device boxes) that could cover the orange logo I would buy one in an instant

But the android stickers that everyone else has bought.. Meh it just doesn't do it for me

I think I'll just slap on a Kernow flag, they come in all sizes :D

They check to see whether you're a long term Orange customer or not. You need to have topped up regularly for the past 6 months to be eligible for this deal.

You can get some little Android stickers (20x18mm I think) and his belly will cover the orange logo perfect. Looks awesome!

Thanks - if Acetone doesn't touch it then Isopropyl won't. I would suggest Dot4 brake fluid but you might end up with a melted mess!

Like the idea of an android sticker though ;)

Do you know where I could find a sticker around that size? There are bigger ones on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Android-Sticker-Pick-Size-and-Colour-Logo-HTC-Case-/130475242929) but these are a bit too big and they are also quite pricey at £2.50 each.
