Guest tambourine_man Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 (edited) Hey Had my san fran a while now, still using 2.1 with Paul's R4 modaco. Got a oled screen. problem is during calls which i have made, quite often the my microphone seems to cut out, i can hear the other person no problems but they just can't hear me. sometimes the sound will come back and sometimes i have to hang up and call again, which normally sorts the problem temporarily. any suggestions? anyone else have this problem? i did a search and found one person who suggested reinstalling the rom, but when i first put this rom on i wiped cache and everything so i don't see why doing it again would be beneficial or change anything? thanks for all your help. Guest Azurren Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 I have only ever heard of a few cases.. But if memory serves (Searching the forum for this would kill me :D) everyone with this issue was using Pauls rom I would de a full wipe (Data and cache ect.) and try perhaps the JabJelly rom Although it could very well be a froyo wide issue

I hadn't done anything to it other than unlock it.Got a replacement from Orange - it's working fine and I've now Froyoed it with no problems. I suspect the microphone failed- they must be using cheap components in these things.

Thanks for your help Hey just had a thought if i send my phone back to orange to get a replacement might I then get sent a TFT phone back as opposed to a OLED? Can I demand an OLED one because that is the one i purchased? Thanks again Edited January 11, 2011 by tambourine_man
Guest gruad23 Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Hey just had a thought if i send my phone back to orange to get a replacement might I then get sent a TFT phone back as opposed to a OLED? Can I demand an OLED one because that is the one i purchased? Thanks again You sure can demand it, but they sure will give you whatever they have on stock. Most probably the person you will be talking to will not know the difference between OLED and TFT anyway, cause it will be an underpaid person that works for a company that squeezes people and resources here and in eastern asia, so we get cheap phones to play with :D (sorry, but its true and I sometimes feel guilty about that) I had the same issues with pauls new MoDaCo alpha4 and alpha5. I switched to Froyo and its far less often now and probably only when signal is bad. When the Mic goes offline and a recall solves the problem and this happens frequently then its likely to be a softwareproblem and not a hardwareproblem. p
Guest gruad23 Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 damn. just happened again and I thought it was gone. using froyo r6 during a call my mic went off. I could here my opposite but he couldnt hear me and we had to terminate and re-call. p
Guest tambourine_man Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Hmm last night i switched to the finnish fillyjonk and it hasn't happened yet, then again i haven't really made many phone calls since. on a different note...since switching to the fillyjonk i've noticed when you make a call the screen goes black as if you were holding it to your easy and the proximity sensor kicks in? seems to be a lot slower at coming back to show the screen then the modaco rom? anyone else get this?
Guest chuko Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 anyone have a solution for this? Using BladeVillain 1.1.0 with an Orange phone sent from the UK to Aus. Don't really want have to send it all the way back.
