Orange San Francisco Phone Signal Booster

Signal boosters (Stickers) are a known scam/con

In fact in some cases they reduce signal as they have metal components (If placed over the antenna) that partially blocks signal

Posted

All of them are nothing more than visual improvements, they do nothing for the signal

The only thing that would work is a proper 2 way either gsm or 3g repeater system that amplifies both the incoming and outgoing signal

That are very expensive, around £300 the last time i checked.

You can buy cheaper ones that only amplify the signal your phone receives but then your battery is going to drain VERY fast as your phones power output will be at maximum -that's if your phone can transmit enough power to make a connection - just because you can boost the incoming signal does not mean you can connect to that signal

Also I must point out that using devices like that in the UK is totally illegal (this does not apply to the signal booster Vodafone sells as it is legal and does not re-radiate your signal, it goes through the internet to Vodafone where it rejoins the mobile network)

Most 2.2 ROMS misreport the Signal Strength bars (related to using some 2.1 bits) , so you may not actually have a stronger signal.

Tesco uses O2:

"Signal booster stickers" are nothing more than a sticker - it is beyond the realms of physics to expect them to amplify a signal! Equally pointless are the advertised "radiation blockers"; not only will they do little or nothing positive but may also degrade you mobile phone reception. Finally, it is probably woth pointing out that ISO 9001 is more to do with process control and record keeping than any kind of technical ability, and that CE marking is not in any way an approval; it is a European self-declaration. It is very difficult to find anything that would make me trust this website!

I read your post and I think you are right. This is very informative. Without using the sticker more than one bars are combat the window & cell tower and we can reduce more load on 3g network.
