I don't know if anyone can help me as I don't think this is a problem with my San Francisco. However you are a knowledgeable bunch out there so I will run my problem past you.

I have an Orange San Francisco which pairs and connects via bluetooth to a Jabra 3030 stereo headset and it works perfectly. I recently bought a bluetooth and other inputs (USB memory stick, memory card and 3.5mm jack) FM transmitter for using with the radio in the car. This transmitter works well with input from the stereo jack but not with bluetooth. The device pairs and connects to the phone with both phone and FM transmitter display this having been achieved. However when I play music (tried several mp3 player apps) it comes out of the speaker of the phone but not through the car radio.

It would seem to be a device problem but is there anything I can do to get this working?

Thanks.

Brian

I really can't help you with this but does the Headset icon appear in the notification bar when you pair?

Could be that your device isn't reconsigning it as a "Headset"

Hopefully someone can help you with this, in the meantime you should do some googleing as it maybe a wide android issue and there could be workarounds :D

I get pairing and connection indicated by both devices and the bluetooth symbol on the phone changes from the normal icon to a slightly different one but I haven't looked closely to see what it is depicting. I thought it was the same as I get with the Jabra which works okay but I'll check this out tomorrow.

Thanks.

custom rom?

have you tried the stock orange one?

i have issues connecting to my OBDII reader with custom roms, but it works fine with the stock orange rom.

it's not really suited to your setup, but i've got a special restore image that i can use that is ready to use

im guessing your going to use it fairly often so my option wouldnt work.

anyway, i've put it down to bluetooth drivers. there are known issues with certain bluetooth drivers and certain devices too...

I had a quick play again this morning and found that my Nokia 6303 would pair, connect and play music through the car speakers with no problem. I am currently using the new kernel and Sebs ROM and everything seems to work fine for me. Surely a ROM problem would effect both my Jabra stereo headset, which works perfectly over bluetooth, and this FM transmitter?

A quick nadroid backup of your current rom and a restore of your original nandroid would only take 10mins :D

Best to be sure eh?

I'll get my son on it tonight but with the new kernel fixing a couple of issues I had before, I don't know whether to try Jellyfish 2.2 this time or look at going back to the stock orange one. I am assuming that the new kernel cannot be used with the new kernel?
