Wireless connections freeze Pulse

Hi Guys,

strange thing:

My Pulse freezes on a regular basis when I (de-)activate Wifi or GSM. This is especially a problem, if you start up the phone and it wants to connect to GSM. At one time I had to restart the phone SEVEN times before it worked. Only thing that helped was starting recovery, wiping cache and reboot. Even this doesn't work always.

Also happens sometimes when I switch Wifi on or off by hand.

I was running the phone with an 8GB (class2) card and FLB 1.2 (a2sd, no swap, Dalvik cache on sd) without this problem. Got a 16GB class 2 card for christmas and thought it would be a good idea to upgrade to FLB1.7,a2sd, swap, Dalvik still on sd. Phone was very slow so I deactivated swap which helped. After a few days the problems occured. Reinstalled everything including reformat of card without swap. Didn't help. Sometimes the phone even froze in other applications.

Then reinstalled everything again including reformat with JMod 1.4. Better for a few days, now the same problem, but seems only to freeze when turning a connection on or off. No problems with Bluetooth, btw.

Unfortunately I have tons of apps on the phone that I reinstalled in one big session, so it is pretty hard to tell if it is based on one of them...

Could it be a problem with the card? I have the feeling that it works better if you do the steps at startup sssllllloooowwwwllllllyyyy (boot - wait for it!!!! - input PIN - wait for it!!! - unlock phone - wait for it!!! - use phone). Maybe a problem with multitasking? Did anybody experience something similar?

I would be grateful for any ideas.

Best regards

Houston

Hi,

for using swap, you need a faster SD, class 6+.

I think, that this is the problem.

Yes, that's why I disabled swap in the later installations... Still doesn't work. Phone just froze in the 'Papyrus' app.

Make a backup, install a stock version without any of your apps and report back afterwards. You could disable the autostart apps with "autostarts" (with a "s" at the end"

Einfach mal alles rauswerfen, was dir verdächtig vorkommt. Dort kannst du auch die Apps deaktivieren, die beim GSM-Statuschange aktiv werden.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I started with a 'clean slate' in any case. Wipe all, install new ROM.

Yes, I already thought about the 'classical process' of elimination. Install a clean version of the ROM. Test, install an app, test, next app, test... To be honest, this is getting a little old with all those apps. Especially if the problem does not occur every time when you start the phone. (And if you need your phone and have to go back to work...)

Downloaded Autostarts. Didn't have time to look at it closely, but I think it needs a little additional info... But seems to be a good idea.

Maybe I'll install the 'naked' FLB and switch the phone on and off several times. Should at least help to determine if the card is the problem. More info on the weekend.

Thanks

Houston
