Guest webskipper Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Hi AndroidTeam@MoDaCo, on my view you should correct the build number hint on http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...and-other-roms/ I have a Orange San Francisco from UK Orange Shop with the build number OUK_P729BV1.0.0B08 and I have a really brilliant display so I guess I have a OLED and not a old-style LCD / TFT. On other hand you write in the FAQ: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...lems-questions/ "Devices that have TFT Screens have the build Number OUK_P729BV1.0.0B08 (OLED can have this buid also - but rarely)" I am using my SF in Germany, is there an other way to get the display type with sureness ? Thank you !

Guest webskipper Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Chipinfo dialer code. ChiperTest says IC: NT35580, GLASS: LEAD so its a TFT ? Can't believe, display is so good...
Guest gambieter Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 ChiperTest says IC: NT35580, GLASS: LEAD so its a TFT ? Can't believe, display is so good... You can't tell because you have not got the option to compare :D Nobody has said the TFT is bad, but many people like the OLED better.
Guest LVL91 Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 (edited) @ Gambieter: If you look at your Desire, don't you find the TFT way sharper? I also have an HTC Desire, and now I know that I like TFT more. I just don't like the 'zig-zag' in AMOLED, it makes it very unsharp. Edited January 12, 2011 by LVL91

And as said, I have a white SF with TFT and the screen is not as good as the OLED in my opinion, and not sharper.
Guest StevenHarperUK Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 I happen to have Access to a few of these devices / OLED and TFT In my opinion : TFT produce sharper shapes, OLED better blacks, less bleed on the back light However both are very good.
Guest M8701 Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 i had to send my week old tft sf back to orange for having a faulty charging socket and a (yes 1) dead pixel. got a OLED replacement this morning. there's a clear difference in colours but both just as good
