Guest extrememonkey Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 OK long story but to cut it short - Until a couple of weeks ago I was a happy Streak owner running Streakdroid 1.5.1 until my LCD cracked. The lovely people at Dell picked it up the next day and posted out a new replacement device for free, which I recieved yesterday.... Now my problem is my new device has come with Stock 2.2 and I am out of the loop and have no idea how to Root stock 2.2 and what I have to do to get back to Streakdroid (now 1.6) Can anyone give me a quick rundown - do I need to update baseband etc etc and how the hell do I root it????
Guest Edrill Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 1) Flash either the StreakMod recovery or Clockworkmod recovery using fastboot. 2) Install 1.6.0 using recovery. That should be it.
Guest extrememonkey Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 got 1.5.1 running but do I need to update the baseband for 1.6??? Current Baseband: GAUSB1A131921-EU
Guest Edrill Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 I suggest you flash the baseband that's available in the 1.5.3 post, and then go to 1.6.0 At the same time, I'm not sure if the baseband for 1.5.1 and 1.5.3 are the same!! Either way, no harm in flashing the baseband again.
