Guest kingqueen Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 I've swopped out my Desire, got a new one under my insurance. With the old one I was going from baadnwz's most excellent DHD Rom 1.7b to 1.7c at the time (IIRC it was a wipe and reflash). On restart odd things started happening. It couldn't access the SD card (SD card removed...) and after initially registering with O2 UK it then deregistered, saying SIM card not entitled to register on that network. Connecting the USB chord to my PC didn't work either, charged the phone but nothing else. Rebooting to Recovery (AmonRA flashed by unrevoked, also it'd been S-Off some time thanks to Alpharev) it was unable to mount the SD card at all, so I couldn't reflash or anything. I eventually managed to RUU back to complete stock (s-on, original radio and unrooted rom) in fastboot so that I could do my insurance claim. But even with the RUU, it still wouldn't access the SD card, had the SIM registration problem, USB problem etc. And it's not the SD card - tried it in another device and it worked fine, tried different working SD card in the Desire and it wouldn't work - or the SIM card, which has been happily working in my old W995. Rationally I don't think flashing the DHD ROM can be responsible - it must be a coincidence, otherwise things should revert after a RUU if nothing else. And my Desire has seen a HECK of a lot of use over the last 9 months - much more than most people's (sometimes use 3 batteries in 1 day!) But even so I'm a little concerned about flashing the DHD ROM onto my new insurance-provided Desire! Could anybody comment, convince me that I'm OK to do so? Thanks!
