I hit the boot to recovery mode icon by accident, how do I get out of it?

Damn you on-charge over sensitive touch screen

(apologies if this is explained elsewhere but I can't find it)

Hold power for 5 sec to switch off... then switch it back on again

Staying on the subject of my idiocy for one moment, what is the point of recovery mode?

1. Read the other threads about recovery mode on here

2. Dont bake it into your ROM ;-)

I've never had a black screen with the original method ie booting into recovery from Pauls apk. i really want to get adam g's bootloader working but despite trying everything, I can't get it to work - I'm stumped on that one for sure, and its pisses me off that others have it working and I can't

I'm beginning to suspect that all problems related to 'booting to recovery' are results of mistakes/error dutring the installation of the clockworkmod recovery...

Or even due to not installing (flashing) the recovery but trying to boot to it anyway...

If you tick all the boxes on the MCR Add-On r6 kitchen, the 'boot to recovery' app is installed, but the clockworkmode recovery itself isn't...

I can imagine this is quite confusing to a lot of (maybe 'inexperienced') users, which leads to a lot of problems (and topics) on this subject...

EDIT:

Do we know for sure anyone has it working?

I've seen a lot of problems with it and understood (with all respect for AdamG) the subject/topic was classified 'not working' and abandoned...

(Haven't search for 'working for me'. Just responding to your statement above: '...others have it working...'

Nope. TBH, the procedure for flashing is pretty straight forward (it's a handful of adb commands). I specifically reflashed it to try and spent some time just powering the device off (long power press) then on. Got it to happen after maybe 10-15 reboots (from power off). Reflashed without CWM and hasn't happened since...

AdamG has it working so do numerous others on the #modaco irc channel.

Oh, OK...

Didn't now about the people on IRC mentioning they got it working...

If others have got it working but NOBODY has managed it using the download in Adam's post, could it be that he has just uploaded the wrong or a corrupt file?

Where are these mysterious people from the irc channel getting their bootloader.bin from? From the post on this site or somewhere else?

Just know I'm going to regret asking this...

What's the relationship between the bootloader and CWM? Flashing CWM only replaces the recovery partition.

Do I need to get my coat?

So, managed to do the same as original poster, except reboot doesn't clear it. All i'm getting is a black screen.

Anyone got any smart ideas?

Pretty please?

Thanks in advance.

Do you have clockwork mod installed? If so, it sounds like the famed black screen of death. If you have CWM installed and all you are getting is the black screen of death even if you power off completely and start again, the only option seems to be to reflash from the beginning.

Check out my thread on removing CWM without reflashing. I've tested it, will be glad to hear if it works for anyone else
