Video players missing from market...

Hello all... I am chuffed to bits at the capability of my Vega (thanks to this site of course). I have gradually conquered all the tweaks (ie: GPS, Tethering etc..), I am now ready to sort out Video playing which I touched on weeks ago but put aside until everything else was out of the way.

My initial experience with video playback was not a good one at all! I found that most of my Xvid's would not play until I re-encoded with stereo sound only, and even that was hit and miss. I want to spend some serious time sorting this out but now, find I have fallen at the first hurdle. The video players that were available via market seem to have disappeard? This is not just my Vega but on my Hero and San Fran as well.

Could you please recommend me the best player and where I might find it?

I stumbled upon a VitalPlayer which appears to do most codecs although it runs out of steam with HD. I have tried h264, DivX and Xvid with mp3 and ac3 sound.

Many thanks for the reply ptbw... VitalPlayer certainly looks like the one to go for! Strange... I have more things showing up in the Market this morning, can't find RockPlayer though?

Looks like VitalPlayer will work with network shares.

I'm using mVideoPlayer Pro and highly recommend it. It's played every video I've tried. Both the free and paid versions are on Android Market.

Does it use the Tegras hardware acceleration?
