Just saw that on the website from Taiwan, sounds like it improves the performance from the Kernel ;)
Guest fear_factory84 Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 I don't have a liquid e (mine is an A1) and I use GEN1 rom.. but it seems looking inside the update.zip file they have patched acer apks (contacts, launcher), boot.img, and the framework jars. It could be nice to see if they have fixed the rating stars issue on market.
Guest gamezz Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 hope some one can port it to liquid (not E).
Guest Edward.W Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 hope some one can port it to liquid (not E). Maybe someone who own a Liquid E should have a test on it before we could port it. ;)
Guest Lens_flare Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 (edited) Humm.. this patch rewrites recovery, boot, some system like framework.. Seems that patch is the missing part of our 2.1 kernel.. so sources are on the way. Edited January 14, 2011 by Lens_flare

Guest koudelka Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 I have modified the update script to only install new boot.img + new dhd.ko module. It worked well on my liquid a1 (running custom rogers rom). Should work on any acer based 2.2 roms I think. But I cant guarantee ;) use at own risk. http://www.multiupload.com/USTX2PFROH I did not do any performance test before and after, maybe someone else can do that :) Cant say I see any difference, but I did not expect that.
Guest jayziac Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 I wonder if this is just some patches to liquid E ROMs so it matches the metalfroyo & t&l ROMs with quadrant scores of about 1000.
Guest Edward.W Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 (edited) Guys, just had a test on it. :) There are improvements, but not much you can feel, so I just give out some score to compare ;) Before installing the patch: After installing the patch: Linpack Result: Just a reference. :D EDIT: I don't know why my Quadrant Marks are always lower than other people here, strange... Guest xaueious Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 They encrypted the ROM somehow. Will try this

Guest Edward.W Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 it's to do with the mbn files in the first boot.zip. I don't know what to do with it though, I'm no computer scientist yet. This kind of MBN file extension is used as a Sony Ericsson mainware file, sounds familiar ;)
Guest Harness Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 (edited) I lied. It's patches for each. I'm betting something like an android equivalent of a .diff file? I'll look at it. Edited January 14, 2011 by Harness
Guest tmp_do Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 mbn is part of radio on htc devices
Guest uzirox Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 Can we flash the first file on regular, old Liquids A1?

Guest Sanfe Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 Can we flash the first file on regular, old Liquids A1? yes, works on my liquid a1 s100

Hi koudelka, could it damage the hardware of a1? That kernel is compiled for LiquidE...
Guest pajn Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 Hi koudelka, could it damage the hardware of a1? That kernel is compiled for LiquidE... No the worst that can happen is that you device don't boot but if that happen just launch recovery and flash another rom.
Guest xaueious Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 Anyone use this over LCR yet? Too lazy to reflash in case this bombs my ROM.
Guest Edward.W Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 BTW, it works on LiquidMetal Rom 3.0beta
