Guest grentuu Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 (edited) I find it strange that a retailer would sell a product but deliberately limit the feature set of a product that could sell by the bucket load. After my wife said she wanted an android phone we decided on the blade purely on a reasonably price for an android phone. The first thing she noticed was that my desire could play radio without headphones and that facebook auto synched with my contacts, both features she wanted. Lo and behold using the 2.2 update from here and her phone does everything mine does. So for £99 she has an android 2.2 phone that does it all, hell we even used the FREE online unlocker to unlock it. Some deal lol P.S. Anyone want to buy an unused Orange sim with £20 on it? Guest ricer Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 There must be skip loads of orange sim cards with £20 on them that people want to sell on! The first thing I did when I got my Blade was unlock it.
Guest Gryphonic Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 It is a great little phone for the money ;) (although afaik facebook contacts don't work yet as the phone hasn't been approved by facebook) Selling directly on the forum is against the rules - you might have to remove that bit, and anyway - everyone on this forum is wanting to get rid of orange sims. GiffGaff ftw :)
Guest LVL91 Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 (edited) I am from the Netherlands. For those who don't know, it's a little country next to belgium and germany. I eventually got it for about €160. If I don't want it, I can easily sell if for about €200 I think. It is the ultimate android phone for it's money, the ultimate phone for custom firmwares. It's battery life is even better than my Desire. And if it gets broken, you just buy a new one, right? Edited January 14, 2011 by LVL91

Just got it confirmed on Sebastian404's de-softened Froyo, also works on JJ and FLB.

Guest DarkCounter Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 Sure it works. Just got it confirmed on Sebastian404's de-softened Froyo, also works on JJ and FLB. Newest MCR Froyo (r8) also has FB-sync enabled. FM Radio only works when earphones plugged, as they are used as antenna...
Guest ricer Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 To be fair I've never had a phone that can use the FM radio without an aerial/headphones plugged in. If your that desperate just use the TuneIn Radio app and select the station you want.
Guest _hifi_ Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 Offtopic: I've got one Acer F1 (WinMobile / Android) and its FM radio works without earphones ;)
Guest phlum Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 I couldn't agree more. The Blade really is an excellent device, and one which I am proud to hold in my pocket. (Sounds cheesy, doesn't it?) And I also don't see why a £20 topup is required. Penny-pinching plot?
