[solved]Export Contacts to SD Card - where are they?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I exported my contacts to the SD card and it reports they are exported to "/sdcard/00005.vcf". I then want to copy them from the SD card to my PC as a backup but I cannot find any Folder "sdcard" nor any file "*.vcf". I have a FAT partition and an Ext3 partition on the SD Card, but they do not seem to be on either. I have searched both with Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux 10.10

I am new to both the SF and Linux so any help is appreciated.

How are you mounting the SDCrad - USB cable into the Phone?

If you still struggling you cound email them to yourself from the phone

I am using the USB cable to the phone. I can see other files and folders on the SD card partitions so the SD card is mounted OK.

They should be in the root dir of the sd card.

Can you see them with a file manager (e.g filer)?

if you sync with gmail contacts, just login to gmail and export the list that way?

I can see them with "Astro" so I reconnected my phone to my PC and I can now see them with Windows Explorer. I do not know what I was doing wrong before but at least it is working now.

Thanks for the help
