There are various Pros and Cons in using an overclocked phone depending on what you're going to use it for. I'm still curious to find out what people feel about overclocking. Please vote in the poll and post a reply if you would like to leave a response about your thoughts on overclocking.

Hopefully, you'll help another fellow decide if they should load an overclocked ROM or not.

Thanks!

i don't think it's a good idea to overclock cuz the battery life is not long even before overclocking

but would there be great performace difference after overclocking for daily-use and gaming?

never used it (though I am on jj r6) as I've assumed it batters the battery

I'd say 'yes but no' - overclocked to 710MHz when charging and screen is on, 600MHZ until battery drops below 20%, then 320MHz after that.

Overclocked to 672mhz. Goes unstable after that. My Blade is mainly used as recretional device and calender, not so much as a phone so I'm not worried about battery consumption. When used as a Phone, I just switch to 320mhz underclock.

I don't overclock for daily use -- worried about battery and shortening use-life -- but I do for Angry Birds, and will for any other games or CPU-hogs. Probably for video, if I start watching movies on it.

Does UNDERclocking make a lot of difference to the battery life. If it does then I may do it just for normal daily phone use.

I overclocked my blade to 729mhz.Min value=122mhz max=729.profile: on demand.

Battery is just fine!

I ran my SF overclocked at 710 for a few days without any issue so tried upping however anything above 729 crashed quite quickly. Been stable at 729 for 24hours now. Noticed a big difference in avi playback when using Rockplayer and feels smoother in general. Battery is defo dopping quicker but not terrible.

In standard setup i get a score of 440 using quadrant, at 729mhz it scores 551

Hopefully some improvements in battery usage will come in future roms but for now im happy with a 20% increase in processor speed for the extra power consumption. ;)

Only a little. 690 rebooted once or twice for me, so I'm on 652normal and 672 when charging. 600 and a smaller min when screen off and 480 when low battery. Oh, and a throttle for if temp is too high, just for peace of mind.

Yes! You notice how much quicker and smoother the phone operates, i've got mine at 768Mhz and 122Mhz.

I was actually asking weather under clocking significantly extends battery like.

i do think it saves quite a lot of batt for underclocking

hopefully it's not an illusion ;)

Is there an option in SetCPU that underclocks when it's raining or snowing? ;)

Thanks for pointing that out to me. Spot the deliberate mistake ;)

I feel highly embarrassed now.
