Taking the Vega back to a better state

Hi All,

I've done quite a lot of tinkering with my Vega and have tried many different patches and hacks which I am sure have probably in some ways detrimentally affected the performance of my machine (I'm getting quite a few FCs with the browser)

What I would like to do is take the Vega back to a cleaner operating state, but at the same time retain some of the hacks (Paul's way of entering recovery, and all of the Apps.

I'm currently running Modaco R6 over firmware version 1.06.5. Does anyone have a recommended process or written a guide for reverting the device back to stock (i.e. what apps to use to back up, how to back up, what cache's to clear etc)?

I have Titanium Backup pro as well as Launcherpro for saving my desktop config. If I completely wiped my Vega how would I then obtain these apps in order to restore the device to a similar state (but with a cleaner OS)?

(Also, like many others I have a screen issue with the keyboard, especially around the far left and right bottom corners (so I get lots of A's and L's). Can anything fix this?).

Just a little point launcher pro only backs up settings to desktop placements of widgets or icons

Sorry, yes I know, but one of my bugbears is the pain of having to set my desktop up how I like it again... It doesn't take long in reality but it feels like it does!

Hi UB31,

It's both Dolphin HD and stock. In fact the reason i'm on here this morning is that I woke up to the BSOD. Y'know, I love the device for the price but it's severely testing my patience now...

Looks like my rest will be simpler to do though (back to stock, flash R6, reflash the recovery patch and WPA_Supp patch. Bob's your... well, you know the rest...
