so i had my first streak since DAY ONE of release date, been following the forums and dj steves work since day one as well, although i dont comment as much.

in a horrific accident (got off the car and dropped the streak that was on my lap) I called dell and got a replacement... not sure if everybody else has been getting refurbished ones as well. it is on stock at&t 1.6 and would like to go to latest streakdroid firmware 1.6.0.

do i have to go through all the firmwares like before? (1.6 o2, 2.1 o2, 2.2, etc) any help would be appreciated. thanks guys.

The last 3 Streaks (freinds) that I upgraded I did the following:

Used the QDL Tool to go from Att 1.6 to 2.1

then flashed 1.5.2

then flashed 1.6.0

all 3 Streaks flashed clean and worked the first time.

Report:

QDL tool was easy breezy.. after I did it the phone booted into official 2.2 I then went ahead and this:

-downloaded necessary files to go to DJ Steve's 1.6.0 (streakmod recovery or clockwork, new baseband, 1.6.0 zip file )

-after I placed the 1.6.0 zip file on the sd card and the recovery and baseband in the same folder where fastboot.exe is

- turned off the phone and launch fastboot (camera button and power hold together)

-on fastboot i flashed the recovery first then the baseband then rebooted

-while rebooting i pressed the volume buttons together and it launched streakmod recovery

- i then flashed 1.6.0

now im enjoying the 1.6.0, and thats the fastest way ;)

So how are you liking 1.6.0? Have you had any issues with apps not working? I've been patiently waiting for att to send out the update but I'm just tired of them pushing the update back and back and back. So I'm about to do this to my phone.

Do it- it is way way way better than 1.6. All apps work.

if you wait for at&t you are going to wait forever! and thats no joke... the streak is not the only device where at&t holds the upgrades for no freaking reason. or maybe is because they still sucking the sack from apple..... my wife has a sony ericsson xperia x10 that was due a 2.1 update a year ago!!!! 2.1!

at&t still has it supposedly testing and upgrading features.... PFFFF!

anyways, 1.6.0 is amazing, you cannot imagine how much this device changes once you install it thanks to the work of DJ Steve!, i've been following his work since day one and he always come through and his roms just become better and better. just upgrade it, you wont regret it.

In SoFla :) w/ Dell Streak: 6601/6.1, tired of waiting on ATT to release the bloated 2.2 version :) so I'm fix'n to make this jump to DJ Steve's froyo.

I would like to recommend adding the direct links to the files associated w/ this procedure to this thread.

I'll let you know how this goes...

One concern; I rooted my Streak w/ unlockr. Will the above process unroot my phone? I hope so cuz this root method screwed up my button lighting. I cannot find any info on a fix for this or a way to un root.

get used to it :P, when dj Steve first introduced himself he said he never settles for one thing and always wants it better, he has always modified his ROMS, and they always get better
