Hi guys just a heads up i am using a E5 sound amplifier and works great with my earphones and it cost me £15.99 (ebay) and next day delivery (included)works great and turned my sanfran into a music beast ...(get good earphones..for extra effect ).

PS i have nothing to do with the product or any seller i just got one and letting people know...if any use to them.

Good find - thanks! Now all I need is a working 32 microSD card and I've got a cheap Iphone equivalent :-)

I've tried the SF with one of these. It boosts the audio volume but it also produces a considerable amount of background hiss and other noises, including when your phone is hunting for a signal (which is actually very loud!). You've also got an extra lead to try and stuff somewhere, and the unit itself.

I'd say this is a last resort - I'm just using PowerAmp with the EQ pushed up. Not ideal but less faff that having to carry round a separate device, worry about charging it, etc.

i have no background sound is probably due to headphone since by increasing the sound u are making the headphones work extra hard. get some that can cope with that level sound it should be fine since mine is perfect and the device is so small u dont notice it (ipod nano size) it works wonders for me and 1 charge lasts 2 days or so(it will depend how often u use it) ...is a great divice i recomend it it also has extra bass or normal mode .(it also uses less batery on phone since its using the devices battery not the phones(unlike power amp and so on
