Guest zigzagindex Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Hi all, Just back from China. I have found a very good mobile power box for Dell Streak. The brand name is PISEN, model TS-D009, 4400MAH, output 5v, 1000mA (I pay £16 for it in China). It works like a charm to charge my streak. Now I am no longer worrying about my battery!
Guest rebski Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Once it is fully charged and it is disconnected from the mains supply waiting to be used, how long does it hold its charge for? In other words is there a discernable depletion of the charger and what percentage over what periods. I have a similar charger, also cheap, but 6000 mAh and it loses 25% over 2 days and is fully discharged after 7 days. Such portable chargers that charge the Streak are rare, so many won't do it.

It has been fully charged the day before last and I will not use it for a week. Let me report how it performs later.
Guest marvin02 Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Here's one with 5000mAh capacity.
Guest wyxwyx Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 I'm using Gum Pro battery working good. It is for Apple products but compatible with Streak also. http://www.starking.hu/products.php?produc...BCls%C5%91-akku
Guest rebski Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Here's one with 5000mAh capacity. Do you know for certain that this will work with the Streak? There is little point in throwing out links to such products on this forum without that knowledge. Sorry, this is not intended as an admonishment but just to try and clear up confusion. It is my direct experience, and it is also borne out by posters on this and on other Streak forums, that many of these devices do not work with the Streak. The fact that they may work with iPhones and iPads is irrelevant. It has been on my mind to start a specific thread in order to list chargers which do and do not support the Streak but this may provide such an opportunity.

Guest rebski Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Thanks for the update. I have raised a query with the retailer of mine and it has been suggested that I return it for replacement. The whole point of these things is that they have juice available when needed. The performance of mine is unacceptable in that regard. If I get the chance to buy the one you have then I shall do so.
Guest Spike8585 Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Do the Duracell ones work? If you are paying 40 bucks for one of these things, would it not be more convenient to just buy a second internal battery?

The problem to have another internal battery is you will have to change it for a full charge. I hesitate to do so as this may cause the back cover a bit loose as time goes by?
