Guest Eragon91 Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Hi all I got my orange san francisco at Christmas and unlocked it soon after. Due to my total newbieness with android I didn't install a new ROM to get rid of the Orange rubbish, and instead used Titanium Backup which worked fine. The phone has worked fine up to now (say three days ago) however a new problem came up - the screen doesn't lock itself anymore! I can't see anything in the settings to help this - does anyone have any idea? The battery runs down much more quickly ;) PS Titanium Backup now wont let me remove anything else now since I updated it saying that an operation is already in progress which shouldn't be happening Help!
Guest Azurren Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Sounds like something is preventing the phone from entering sleep mode. An app or something (If you think it maybe Titanium then try removing it) But I still will suggest installing a custom 2.2 rom. I mean, you have already rooted it right? Just as well take the next baby step ;)
Guest wadgel Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Sounds like Titanium Backup is what is running in the background stopping sleeping. Install something like Spare Parts to view detailed battery history. Choose Partial Wake Usage (i.e. keeping the phone awake) in the top list, give t a few seconds for the screen to update, and check which app is listed at the top. What happens after a restart (which will stop the Titanium Backup job)?

Guest Lew247 Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 I suggest flashing with a new 2.2 rom There are many now the choice is yours which you choose but it will fix your problem and also make the phone much nicer to use Personally I'd not use Titanium backup, I'd install the apps again, that way if there was a problem with one app you should spot which one it is easy enough after you reinstall them one by one but that's a personal preference.
Guest Eragon91 Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 OK I uninstalled and reinstalled Titanium Backup and it now locks the screen automatically! Spare parts wasn't listing it so I got rid of it and reinstalled. On a side note the uninstall in Android market didn't work so I used the manage applications option in settings ;) Everything now working good - Thanks!!
