Guest karololszak Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 (edited) Hi, first of all, please excuse my bad english, as I am from Poland, and english is a foreign language to me ;) I'm new to both Android system and ZTE's mobiles... I've got a few questions about the ZTE Blade: 1. For how long can you use your phone before the battery dies? (discharges?) Or, what's the battery life? (I can't put together a proper sentence, sorry :D) How different is it on Froyo (2.2) comparing to stock ROM? 2. Is there a comparison of Blades with the 5.0 MP camera and 3.2 MP camera? I'm curious whether there is a big difference in image quality... 3. Is flashing the ROM worth it? What are the advantages of custom ROMs over the stock ROMs (besides the fact that you get rid of the Orange/other-company's crap)? 4. Is overclocking the phone worth it? (I assume that the higher you OC it, the more battery it consumes...) 5. Can you underclock it? 6. What is SetCPU / how does it work? Can you overclock / underclock your cpu with it "on the fly" (without rebooting / flashing your phone, etc.)? 7. What ROM would you recommend for me? Im going to use my mobile mainly for mobile internet (about 60% WiFi [home/town], 40% - 3G [school]), listening to music (I know its not the best at doing it ;P), or FM Radio (with RDS maybe? I read that it depends on the radio chip your phone is equipped with; but on the stock ROMs the radio App doesn't have RDS anyway?) I would like the phone/ROM to be stable and high-responsive... I also would like to play some games from time to time :) It seems the best one out there is Japanese Jellyfish RLS7 or MoDaCo Custom Froyo Beta8... Edited January 22, 2011 by karololszak
Guest phlum Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 I can answer a few of your questions: 1. I think you have about 5 hours' talk time. The battery life is greatly improved in Japanese Jellyfish RLS6 (not sure about RLS7, though) - on the stock ROM I only got about half a day out of it, but with JJ6 I get about five times as much. Which is extremely handy. 3. Definitely worth it. As I said before, you can increase your phone's battery life; plus, custom ROMs remove all of Orange's crapware and generally make the system run much smoother. And there are certain ROMs which you can flash on that change the battery icon in your status bar to show you the percentage of what's left. 7. I recommend Japanese Jellyfish as it's the most stable ROM I've come across so far. Though you might want to try out MoDaCo's ROM and FLB-Froyo as well. It's down to personal experience, really. Hope I could be of some assistance. (By the way, your english isn't all that bad! ;))
