Guest GingerDayWalker Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 (edited) Hi guys, My Vega wont show up as a removable drive on my Imac. I'm running iOS 10.6.6. I got my vega from Ebay and it already had Modaco's r6 rom installed. But like all geeks i want my version i've made through the kitchen :D. Is there an option somewhere i have to turn on/off? I've put USB debugging and everything on but no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Edit! Got it working!!! managed to use remote desktop to get R6 on my SD then somehow got it to flash through the system tools in the menu... This gave me back USB Host/Slave app, quick switch back to Slave and boom! connected straight up to my mac!!! The goon that sold me it left it in slave then removed the app! Weeks of annoyance over a simple thing! SOLVED THOUGH FINALLY!!! ;):):):) Edited February 1, 2011 by GingerDayWalker

There should be a USB icon which allows the switching to either USB Host or Slave mode. EDIT: Sorry, maybe my mistake - looks like you are trying to install another customised version of the R6 Rom. Afraid I can't help you with driver problems for the Imac - don't own one. Edited January 15, 2011 by Toxophilite
Guest travisb Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 (edited) My MacBook Pro won't see the Vega as a removable drive with USB debugging turned on. Need to turn it off for that, then it sees it no problem. Edited January 15, 2011 by travisb

Need to turn it off for that, then it sees it no problem. Tried it with and without the USB Debugging mode, I wanted to restore it back to the original rom first then put modaco's rom on it. As i have no idea which version of the Modaco rom he used. Grr, may have to bob up to my mothers and use a PC.... but i hate windows... haha! I always seam to get a problem that nobody else has! ha!
Guest travisb Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Or install Parallels or VMware Fusion on your mac and run XP (as it seems to play easiest with Vega) as a virtual machine.

Guest travisb Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 Just wondering, do you have problems with other USB drives etc on the iMac? And just because the iMac doesn't recognise it, shouldn't mean the XP VM won't

Nope, it wont connect to anything ;), shouldn't be the cable its brand new. Not got anything else to test it on like apart from my mums laptop which is windows 7 and that didn't work. I formatted my memory card the other day thinking it was that. It just keeps coming up saying SD card blank or unknown file type?? god what have i done ! I've sorted the SD Card now, I could do with doing a Factory Reset but am unsure how to do this just to make sure its the cable not the Rom this goon has installed. Can this be done without the Vega exe on the site. Edited January 18, 2011 by GingerDayWalker

And just because the iMac doesn't recognise it, shouldn't mean the XP VM won't Ha whoops i did not know this, and no my imac has connected everything i've ever connected to it. I'm starting to think it might be the USB Lead... i did buy it off ebay but the actuall device is fine, can access SD card and everything. I've tried with USB debugging on/off, connecting it after a fresh reset and just about everything else i can think of. I'm well and truly stumped, If i could do a Full factory reset i could find out what the problem is, or at least narrow it down. But will this remove Modaco's rom? The guy i got it off put Modaco's R6 rom on himself so it can't be the actual device, he very nicely left out the USB changer thing though so i don't know which mode that is set to. Grrr this is annoying ;). I will try and find another USB - USB lead and try that.... EDIT - Just baught a brand new USB lead to no avail.... will try windows soon as i get the chance.
