Guest stevesilk51 Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Hi all, Deleted google framework services in error. Reinstalled apk in appmanager. Now when I try to get on market it asks me to log onto my gmail account and then promptly quits when l try to. Does this mean a complete r6 reinstall or is there a simple workaround to get Market back? I have tried restarting or reinstalling all relevant apps that I can think of. Thanks for any help. Steve

Steve Is 'Talk' still in your apps list? If so log into that and if that fails perhaps try logging in to you Gmail account from your PC and see what happens. As I understand it your gmail username has to be shown as AVAILABLE in the 'Talk' app before the Market will open correctly. Edited January 15, 2011 by trevor432990

Hi trevor, Yes Talk is still there and when I run that it asks me to create a google account, vicious circle. Can login to Gmail , from browser ok though so account is still active. Strange situation. Steve Edited January 15, 2011 by stevesilk51
Guest trevor432990 Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 As well as the browser can you click on the Gmail icon and be logged straight in? Do you run any system backup app? If all else fails you can probably remove the Google apps and re-install using ADB which would be slightly easier than a full re-flash which I can give you some instructions if needs be.
Guest stevesilk51 Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Will give a go Trevor and if necessary use adb. Thanks
Guest stevesilk51 Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Well, gmail shortcut also not working, asks for logon. Andl no google apps backups so looks like complete reflash, OMG! We live and learn.
Guest trevor432990 Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Does all sound rather strange you should be able to logon using the Gmail icon then in Talk it should show you as available and then Market should be accessible but I do recall some people saying once they set-up a Gmail account Market would not work until they rebooted machine so bare that in mind. Good luck ;)
Guest trevor432990 Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Just an after thought but try going to SETTINGS > ACCOUNTS & SYNC SETTINGS and in the Manage Accounts section and check that all the boxes are ticked cos maybe they got reset when you deleted the Google Framework Service and if there is no Gmail account specified there that might be the root cause of your problem.
Guest simonta Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Don't think installing the apk via app manager is going to work. Try using ADB to push it then chmod it to 0666.
Guest stevesilk51 Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 (edited) Hi again, Many thanks to Trevor and Simonta but ended up doing a complete reflash. Getting quite fast at that now, just annoying having to redo home screen despite backing up in launcher pro. Could not workout how to execute backup. Done now though. ;) Steve Edited January 16, 2011 by stevesilk51
Guest trevor432990 Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 Shame about that but as you say it's all good experience in a manner of speaking. Glad to hear you are up and running again though ;)
