Guest yabbas Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 (edited) I've installed Paul's small toolbar mod update which includes the USB Host mode apk. This was on a stock 1.0.65 rom Vega. Selecting USB Host gives me a "Switching USB Mode // Your device will reboot shortly, please wait!" screen. There is no reboot though, nothing seems to happen - other than the apk gaining 8MB in its cache [presumably the host kernel?] Am I missing something obvious? FIXED: USB Host switch app in R6 released performance pack doesn't work. Reinstall from the links mentioned below! ;) Edited January 19, 2011 by yabbas
Guest YorkieUK Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 I had the same drama. I fixed it by installing it from this thread; http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...r/#entry1535739 I then lost Flash but that's a simple fix and in the stickies if required. Good luck ;)
Guest Schooleydoo Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 Ditto, as here: http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...k-in-usb-slave/
Guest hjg Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 I seem to be able to get into host mode and switch between modes but unable to read a usb stick. I'm running R6. In host mode the usb stick 'lights up' so is getting power and it is FAT 32 - checked that on a pc. To access the files on the stick I do following: In 'iFileManager' go to /mnt/usb/system_usb, get green tick but it shows empty. What are the exact steps?? - please
Guest yabbas Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Thanks all! I'll give the thread linked a try and see where I go. *fingers X'ed it works* ;) Wonder if we can get NTFS file system support in Android?
Guest yabbas Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 R6 released USB Host switch doesn't work. Reinstalling from the original thread worked a treat. Thank you all!
Guest hjg Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 R6 released USB Host switch doesn't work. Reinstalling from the original thread worked a treat. Thank you all! That did fix it - but the r6 version did allow the switching between ....dix and .....pov but could not see anything plugged into the usb skt. Mine will now see files on a 512 Kingston stick and a 160gb Freecom hdd but not a 2gb Kingston stick - even though it is FAT 32.
