Desire stuck while charging

I posted this also on xda-site, but I thought I'd also ask tips from here...

I've read quite a few threads about Desires rebooting on their own, and people having to send their phones to service because of defective motherboards.

My Desire's symptoms are a bit different: Every now and then it gets stuck while I leave it charging (while not using it). After that it doesn't react to any buttons, and the only way to get it going again is to take the battery out and in again.

What do you think, is it the same fault.... defective motherboard??

If I do have to send it for service, there's another problem: I need to get the Desire back to stock condition (so the service will be done under warranty).

Could you please help me with the procedure?

My phone is currently rooted, s-off'd, I've also flashed a new custom ROM and kernel.

I bought my phone here in Finland and it's non-branded one. Sadly I didn't backup my stock ROM before I flashed the first custom one, so I'm not sure which stock RUU to use?

Thanks in advance...

Did you try to do a full wipe of the phone and check if that solves the freezing problem?

Usually I would do a or flash a different rom and wait with installing my apps. Then I would let the phone sit for a day and check if it still acts up and install back all the programs I had. That's how you'll know what's wrong and it's the simplest way.

Or do adb logcat when it freezes and check if that gives you a clue about what's crashing the phone.

Hmm, sounds like it needs to go back (once you've tried bpvik's steps) that's what used to happen to mine, I had to send it back and it got a new mobo.

As for which RUU, what's the original info, build version etc. I'm guessing it will be a WWE one being non-branded but you would be best off searching here and xda for RUU, plenty of info available.

OK, so, my Desire crashed again. Just charging it (not using it at all). When I tried to wake it, it didn't react to anything...---> battery out and back in.

I did 'adb bugreport' afterward which gave a huge report about the phone. Now, all I need is somebody who can translate it to human ;).
