Guest chiguireitor Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 (edited) Hi ppl, first post in this forum. Just adapted the Superboot from the t-mobile pulse to use it on the U8220-6 which is sold here in Venezuela (i have heard that in other countries too). I'm posting the raw boot.img to be used with the clockwork recovery in "advanced restore" mode plus the md5 sum archive. Everything works as expected except for the ADB (which i'll be working on next) and quickboot. Zip File with both files, hosted on rapidshare Quick instructions: * Install clockwork recovery (google it) * Unzip both files on your phone's sd card into a new directory called "custom" under SDROOT\clockworkmod\backup\ * Reboot into recovery mode (turn it on with menu+red button pressed) * Select nandroid > advanced restore > "custom/" > Restore boot > Yes - Restore boot * Wait a pair of seconds and then select "reboot system now" * You're done :-) you can install whatever app you like that needs super user privileges (i.e. Market Enabler) If anyone wants to do an update.zip then go ahead, just drop a line so i know ;-) EDIT: Use z4root, the previous method isn't working at all Edited January 21, 2011 by chiguireitor
Guest pedrojaime Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 I am fed up with outdated rapidshit links to unsigned ROMs on this website. Also, I am becoming acutely aware of the problems getting a rom with 3G to work in Latin America, especially with my Huawei U8220-6 in Ecuador? Has anyone in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile or Argentina managed to get at least 2.1 working with 3G? Brazil doesn't count since it has the same frequencies as Europe so you will be fine with Sweden's TRE rom or something like that. Well, I'm off to bed, I give up fighting to flash ROMs tonight.. :D Hopefully someone will find this information useful for working out which frequencies you need depending on what part of the world you are in: http://www.worldtimezone.com/gsm.html Sorry for being impatient but really struggling here to get things working.. Thanks to anyone who has the answer to my dilema.
Guest pedrojaime Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Aaaarrrghh, I have apparently reached my download-limit with rapidhare. Is it possible y could upload this link to mediafire or other site please? I am becoming acutely aware of the problems getting a rom with 3G to work in Latin America, especially with my Huawei U8220-6 in Ecuador? Have you been successful with this?? Guest pedrojaime Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Hello/Hola, I am trying your instructions tonight. At the moment I am stuck with Swedish TRE rom without 3G on my Huawei U8220-6. I am trying to get to at least 2.1 rom with 3G data plan working for Ecuador.. Another question I have, do you know where I can download updata.app? Muchas gracias de antemano, Peter
