Guest Regunus Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Ok lads. Need your help on this one if possible. A few days ago I got from my company a brand new white desire. Nothing that can replace my nexus but I always had 2 mobiles anyway... So I decided to root it, flash custom recovery and custom rom even though it's a company phone. Anyway, first I tried the fake-flash way. It's an easy way to gain access to a custom recovery after all. And, of course, it failed. After that I used Unrevoked which also failed. After a few search over the net I saw that the HBOOT 0.93 needs to be downgraded before changing recovery or use Unrevoked. So I took a good look @ xda and I found this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768256 in order to downgrade and be able to use Unrevoked, flash recoveries blah, blah, blah. And the fun start right now During the hboot flash I received a message : "Fail_PU" and "Can not roll back hboot version". Everything else flashed correctly except the hboot and radio_v2 (or something like that). I tried to reboot the phone after that which rebooted straight to stock recovery and not to the OS. Removed the battery, tried to reboot and it booted again to recovery. I tried to use a stock RUU (with eclair) but not even that could fbe flashed on my device. The only thing that could be flash in order to make it usable again was an official FroYo RUU. Info on hboot is the following : BRAVO PVT4 SHIP S-ON HBOOT-0.93.0001 MICROP-051d TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101 RADIO-5.11.05.27 aUG 10 2010, 17:52:18 Thanks in advance!
Guest Regunus Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Let me add on this one that it was possible for me yo gain Temproot with Visionary+ but Permroot failed every time... ;)
Guest EddyOS Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 (edited) You didn't read enough. You're on PVT4 which is a new version of the Desire so you need to get the right version of unrEVOked to work. Read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=853583 Hopefully you've not bricked your phone but trying something for older Desires on your new one And VISIONary isn't for the Desire, although temproot works Edited January 17, 2011 by EddyOS

I reflashed the stock FroYo RUU and it works. I'll check the link! thanks a lot mate ;)
Guest EddyOS Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 That's OK then!! Apparently the PVT4 has a few issues when it comes to rooting but it should work with unrEVOked 3.32 (or whatever the latest one is!)
