Guest gingercat Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Is it just me or does the volume not get any louder from 50% to 100% ?
Guest dagrim1 Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Is it just me or does the volume not get any louder from 50% to 100% ? Nope, same here. With youtube movies for example
Guest SmileyMan73 Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 I find audio on videos to be very low.
Guest ArthurMachen Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 I’ve only started to notice this after a few days using PowerAmp. It's got a big round dial & from about 8 to 12 o'clock volume does not change. I thought it was maybe just me.
Guest Yogimax Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 I find exactly the same! Yogimax
Guest warriorscot Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 Could be hitting a software or hardware limiter, the device was made for an EU country so it would have to have one.
Guest Sir Gash Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 I have been looking for a solution to this but haven't found anything yet, we probably need the kernel source to fix it (I imagine the max volume is reached too quickly because the increment is too high). However, I did find this thread over at XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...ghlight=speaker It has made a massive difference to the headphone loudness and quality. Sadly, it doesn't seem to have improved the speaker volume. Please note: this does not fix the bug with volume over 50% but it does mean the lower volumes are a bit louder and seem to have a better dynamic range so you can keep the volume set to low. If anyone can figure out how these work and improve speaker volume, that may help until we have the kernel source. BTW, I installed the G7-Universal V2R2 files if anyone is interested.

Thanks for this - good spot. Looks like we could make good use of those configuration files to optimise our Vega sound quite well... if only someone can dechiper them!
